You’re Braver Than You Believe

Beloved Winnie the Pooh author A. A. Milne instilled much heartfelt wisdom in our young minds. One of his most famous lines was “You’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think”.

Now, I’ve never described myself as a brave person. In fact, I’d say I’ve lived most of my life somewhere between terrified and worried. I’ve never run into a burning building to save someone’s life, nor have I applied for a job that requires that of me. I’ve never needed a bulletproof vest for work. No… brave people do that.

Except, bravery is more than risking your life for someone else.

Bravery is facing yourself.
Bravery is facing the unknown.
Bravery is showing up when your inner voice is begging you to hide.

Bravery in my work

With very little business experience, I started a jewelry business in my front living room. It has grown into a thriving business in Downtown Orlando with a team that feels more like family.

Bravery in my life

When mine and Matt’s marriage was in shambles, I risked my broken heart and gave love a second chance. Now, I have the most amazing marriage imaginable.

When I would have rather had my mattress swallow me, I pulled myself up and showed up. I was terrified, but I showed up.

You know, maybe I am braver than I believe. Maybe you are, too.

So, on those days when you feel all alone, trust yourself. You can face today and any day that follows. After all, you’ve made it this far. You simply must remember: you’re braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.

But most importantly, you’re never really alone.

When you need someone to call for advice and you just don’t feel strong enough, look inside yourself. Know that you’re braver than you believe.
